POSITION OPENING
Watauga County is accepting applications for the Domestic Violence Officer position with the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office. Position performs intermediate protective service work assisting victims of domestic violence, and related work under the general direction of the Chief Detective Captain. Position responds to domestic violence incidents; provides information to victims of domestic violence regarding community resources for assistance and counseling; performs field follow up with victims involving domestic violence cases; and serves domestic violence orders on defendants. High school diploma or GED required, as well as possession of North Carolina Basic Law Enforcement Certification with moderate experience in law enforcement and domestic violence, or equivalent combination of education and experience required. County benefit package includes medical, dental and vision insurance; membership with the Local Governmental Employees’ Retirement System, 5% supplemental retirement contribution; paid holidays; vacation and sick leave.
