Watauga County Emergency Services Department is accepting applications for the position of Administrative Assistant I / Emergency Management Planner. Under general supervision position performs intermediate skilled clerical and administrative support work performing a variety of complex office assistance and administrative tasks. Position will provide support to the Emergency Operations Center during activations and assist with planning work related to Emergency Management. Duties include processing and maintaining files and records for the department; including payroll, budget, accounts payable and account receivable. Additional duties include processing and collecting fees, scheduling inspections, answering telephone, and providing assistance to the public. High school diploma and moderate experience in office assistance work required, experience with emergency management preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. Salary grade 6, $42,615. County benefit package includes health insurance, retirement, paid holidays, vacation and sick leave. Application deadline date is Monday, May 6, 2024.
